Edison Alcaide is a Brazilian actor bursting onto screens in his breakout role as Jean Charles De Menezes in, Suspect: The Shooting of Jean Charles De Menezes, coming globally to Disney+ on the 30th April. The four-part series is written and executive produced by Jeff Pope (Philomena, Stan and Ollie). The series focuses on the events surrounding the tragic killing of innocent Brazilian Jean Charles de Menezes (Edison Alcaide), after he is mistaken for a terrorist. Told from multiple perspectives of those involved, it examines how memory - both accurate and distorted - can be turned into fact and shape our understanding of the truth. Edison stars alongside Max Beesley, Conleth Hill, Emily Mortimer, Daniel Mays and Russell Tovey. The series is already receiving five star reviews and global press attention. Edison is also known for short films; Damn Social Distancing and The Damn Mask, as well as TV show Breaking the Band and feature film Shore Leave. Edison is fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese.
